To join the CIE you must first become a member of the New York State Commercial Association of REALTORS by filling out the application below.
Dues are based on the calendar year. Please call 518–463-5315 for prorated dues amounts.

Who can join?

Any person holding a broker or salesperson‘s license or appraisal license/certification who agrees to subscribe to the REALTORŪ Code of Ethics may join NYSCAR as a primary or secondary REALTORŪ member.

Membership in NYSCAR will satisfy the National Association of REALTORSŪ requirements for local board membership for CPM, CCIM, SIOR and other NAR affiliates.

Each member firm would need to appoint a Designated REALTORŪ who is a principal, partner, or corporate officer, or will act in the principal, partner or corporate officer‘s place and who would be responsible for the activities and financial obligations of the commercial members in their firm. (This same policy applies to residential boards.)

Benefits?

Grievance/Professional Standards – The Association will have standing peer committees to enforce high standards of ethical conduct and to arbitrate business disputes among its members. This will allow commercial real estate professionals to decide disputes between commercial practitioners.

Commercial Newsletter – You will receive a commercial newsletter on a quarterly basis. This newsletter will bring you up to date on legislative items of interest to the commercial practitioner, issues affecting the industry, member news, program dates, and education/marketing news.

Networking/Marketing – Networking/Marketing meetings will be held around the state giving the members an opportunity to network with colleagues from across the state.

Property Database – NYSCAR provides an on-line access to property data throughout the state.

Government Affairs – NYSCAR, along with NYSAR and NAR, will inform members of pertinent governmental issues and coordinate efforts to present the industry‘s views.

Membership Directory – A pocket sized, yearly listing of members listed alphabetically, as well as by area. Members may list their area of specialization and may also advertise in the directory. The directory is sent to each member of the association.

NYSAR and NAR – REALTOR members have automatic membership in the New York State and National Associations of REALTORS. Access to NYSAR and NAR publications, programs, and benefits (discount programs on cellular phones, hotels, Alamo car rental, office products, UPS, and Sprint long distance. Insurance programs and VISA card programs are also available).

Professional Designations – Only NYSAR and NAR members, through educational courses, may obtain recognized specialty designations in commercial real estate, brokerage, management, appraising, etc.
